The invert air is a move that is more and more appreciated by modern bodyboarders because it is a radical trick.
To do that, you need first a lot of speed and then a good coordination with the breaking oh the wave : you must hit the lip when it starts breaking. (picture 1). Your trajectory to the lip has to be as vertical as possible.
When your board hits the lip, you have to give a powerful impulse to the top and, at the same time, to pull the board with your arms to the top and the beach. The action of your arms must be done quickly in order to use the maximum of the projection of the lip.
The bodyboarder is now upside down in comparison with the water (picture 2). Then, you must stop the rotation and reverse it thanks to the top of your body to replace the board between you and the surface of the water (picture 3). The landing is the same as for an el-rollo.
All the difficulties of this move take place in the fact that you need to reverse the rotation in the middle of the tricks, when you are in the air. The more arched is your body and the longer time you stay in the reverse side, the more radical and also spectacular is the move. Just look at the Invert air of Botha.
