The lip floater is a very common trick for the real drop kneers. If you watch some bodyboarding videos, you may have seen it a lot.
This move is generally done when the wave is closing : it consist of slipping on the lip when the wave is breaking (pictures 1 et 2).
First, be sure that you have a good position on the board. Then, you need a lot of speed : to gain speed, try to go up and down on the wave. When you see that the wave will begin to break, make a sharp bottom turn and go up vertically to the lip. Try to stick to the lip with the board by pushing with your legs.
Then, you have to slip along the lip and go down to the surface of the water in the same time as the lip in order to have a softer landing. The key of this move is a good timing between you and the lip and not a good equilibrium.
