This trick was invented during years 90 (at the same time as the ARS). This move is radical and requires a lot of litheness.
To complete this trick you need a wave that is adapted to it : this means a wave which size is higher than 1m and with a lip that looks like a springboard. Speed is once more one of the keys for completing the move. After the bottom turn go ahead to the lip of the wave with a trajectory as vertical as possible. You must hit the lip at the exact time when the lip begins to fall ahead in order to profit by all the energy of the wave (picture 1).
When you hit the lip, start the back flip : throw your legs "over" your head. The wave must throw you in the air and amplify your movement (pictures 2 et 3). During the rotation, try to look the place where you want to land on.
The landing is also a difficult part of the move : first you need to land flat and then you will fall down in the same time as the lip, in the foam and especially in front to the foam (photos 4 et 5). So, you have to complete a half turn in the foam to replace you in the right direction. (You can also do this rotation during the descending phase).
To sum up, a lot of speed and an important impulse are the keys for this trick.
